History

Cambridge Sunblinds is the sister company of Norwich Sunblinds, which was formed in 1978 by John Reddington.

It was a family business from the very beginning.  Fiona, his daughter, joined the company in the early days, and is now a director of the company.

Her husband Kevin joined the business in 1988 and is now managing director of the firm.

Her brother-in-law Paul Solomon is also a director.

As the business expanded, the company needed to move premises at various times in order to cope with the new product ranges. Norwich Sunblinds moved the manufacturing arm to Bunn’s Bank industrial estate in Attleborough in 1990 and to the current site on the Haverscroft Industrial Estate 12 years ago.

In 1990 they moved the manufacturing side to Attleborough.

Today, the business employs 23 people.

Many of the team have been with the company for years and have honed their expertise working for during that time, meaning that Cambridge Sunblinds can cope with unusual spaces and specifications that other companies might not have the experience to deal with. Motorised blinds and curtains, for example, are becoming more popular, and the team also deal with commercial spaces that need large or unusually shaped products.
